Registered Nurse (RN) | Travel | Neuro MedSurg Acute

Assignment Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro MedSurg Acute unit. Ideal candidates will have experience in level 1 trauma care, as well as prior travel and neuro unit experience. This role involves providing care to patients with neurological conditions such as stroke and brain tumors within an acute care setting.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: 8/4/2025
  • Location: Illinois
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Estimated Gross Weekly Pay Package: $2565 (negotiable)
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Floating Requirements: Float within the general unit; skills-based assignments when outside the unit
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
  • Orientation: 2 days with preceptor

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments to patients
  • Titrate drips such as Heparin based on PTT
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Utilize telemetry equipment and monitor patient vitals
  • Provide care for patients with neurological disorders and medical overflow

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application
  • Level 1 trauma experience
  • Previous travel experience
  • Experience on a dedicated neuro unit
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with Heparin gtt

PEL/VIP Job ID #64848702. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
