  • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week; days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Orientation: 3 days with a preceptor

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • At least 1 year of recent med-surg, medical-surgical nursing, or acute care experience preferred
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable approach
  • Experience with nephrology or urology patients is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to a busy acute care unit and provide bedside report and rounding support
  • Comfortable floating to other general medical-surgical units as needed
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse med-surg patient population
  • Care for patients with ESRD, AKI, dialysis needs, transplants, post-op urology cases, and general medical overflow
  • Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and support ongoing monitoring and clinical care
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs to support safe staffing and smooth unit flow
  • Participate in bedside report, rounding, and coordinated care planning
  • Float to other general medical units or assist as needed in select support roles
  • Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach while promoting teamwork and unit success
