Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring CT/compact license and Level I Trauma Center experience.

Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Average patient ratios of 1:2 during both days and nights
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Potential to float to sister SICU unit as needed
• Epic charting system used
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active or pending RN license (CT or Compact) accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (3 years preferred)
• Prior Neuro ICU experience required
• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and EVD/ICP monitoring preferred
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive drip titration preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex ICU patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Manage multisystem organ dysfunction and high-acuity respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID vaccine required with religious or medical exemption only
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former staff must have a 2-year separation before returning as a travel nurse
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Travelers must be prepared to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
