Job Summary
Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Specialty in a high-acuity neuro ICU setting located in a healthcare facility. This role involves managing critically ill adult patients with neurological diagnoses, utilizing specialized skills and certifications. The position offers a dynamic environment focusing on advanced patient care and collaborative interdisciplinary support.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), 2 years of ICU experience, neuro ICU experience preferred, trauma ICU experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills: Managing arterial lines, blood product administration, ventilator management, central line care, patient sedation, stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias, lumbar drains, management of multisystem organ failure, PICC line management, post-neurosurgery care, procedural sedation, ventilator management, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, TPN/lipids, neuro-specific equipment and patient handling
• Travel Experience Required: Yes
• Unit Details: 24-bed high acuity Neuro ICU with high surgical volume and turnover, including neurosurgical, neurology, and cerebrovascular diagnoses
• Orientation: 12 hours prior to start date, scheduled for the Monday before the start
• Start Date: 10/06/2026
• End Date: 01/05/2027
• Additional Information: Floating resource may be reassigned within a 75+ mile radius to different departments or units according to staffing needs. Requires modules, completed pre-start and annually, with durations ranging from 1 to 24 hours.
