  • Shifts Per Week: 3x12-hour shifts; 4x12s available
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend rotation with some holidays
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Setting: Adult critical care in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing or acute care experience in a comparable specialty
  • Experience in medical, surgical, and trauma ICU preferred
  • Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to pass telemetry testing prior to start
  • Strong critical thinking skills and comfort with high-acuity patient care
  • Willingness to float as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside care to critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma patients in a Trauma ICU
  • Monitor and manage complex conditions including respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeds, post-op recovery, and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Perform and assist with advanced ICU therapies such as ventilator management, vasoactive drips, sedation, and arterial line care
  • Support patients requiring invasive monitoring, blood product administration, and advanced life support interventions
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary critical care team to promote safe, evidence-based patient care
  • Respond to urgent situations throughout the hospital as part of a highly trained critical care team
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold best practices in a high-acuity environment
