Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Care for ICU and IMC patient populations, including neurosurgical and craniotomy/EVD cases
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
  • Day and night, 8 and 12 hour shifts available with every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
  • Open to 1.2 FTE
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating required as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, specifically with craniotomy and EVD management
  • ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Must successfully pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
  • Skilled in critical care procedures including arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex and post-neurosurgical patients, including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury cases
  • Manage patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, EVDs, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocols
  • Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Holiday coverage required for some designated holidays
