Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring Level I trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Science ICU of a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Candidates will float within scope of practice if needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA state or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Neuro ICU required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• BSN preferred, though diploma and ADN graduates from accredited programs (ACEN or CCNE) are also accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and ICP monitoring
• 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients, including ventilator management and ICP monitoring
• VCU has a natural nail policy for all clinical staff
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Travelers and former permanent staff must have a 12-month gap since last employment with the facility before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Time off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• No guaranteed holidays off
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
