Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and prior travel experience to work 36-hour weeks in a Trauma Level I/II teaching hospital.

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 36-hour work weeks
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to ICU/IMC/Tele units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care/management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex and critically ill patients
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be submitted for consideration
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
