  • Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
  • Charting System: Epic experience preferred/required

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • Previous travel nurse experience required
  • Current compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • AHA certifications only for required credentials
  • Experience with high-acuity neuro patients strongly preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Strong skills in telemetry, ventilator management, and IV therapy
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and adapt to changing unit needs
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult Neuro ICU patients with complex neurological and medical needs
  • Monitor patients with stroke, seizure, post-neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury diagnoses
  • Manage ventilated patients and support invasive neuromonitoring, including ICP and EVD monitoring
  • Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as tracheostomy care, PEG-related care, and line management
  • Administer medications, titrate drips, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective patient outcomes
  • Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record using Epic
  • Float to comparable units when needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
  • Support a culture of safety, communication, and compassionate bedside nursing
