Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience in an acute care or hospital setting
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current NIHSS certification
  • All certifications must be from AHA where applicable
  • Experience with ventilators, telemetry, and IV starts
  • Strong background caring for critically ill adult patients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU environment
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or other formal leader

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit
  • Monitor and manage patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, renal failure, liver failure, post-cardiac arrest, and COVID-related complications
  • Safely manage ventilated patients and interpret dysrhythmias
  • Administer and titrate continuous IV sedation as ordered
  • Perform IV starts and maintain patient access as needed
  • Document accurately in Epic and communicate patient status effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, social services, and other healthcare partners
  • Support specialized ICU care using equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, and GE ventilators
  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and highly attentive critical care nursing support
