Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry-Oncology RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 1 year of cardiac/telemetry experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Direct patient care on the Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1845-0715), every other weekend
• May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations or within the facility
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg-cardiac/telemetry experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and heparin protocols
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical, telemetry, and oncology patients
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• RTO limited to 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
