Join a leading acute-care hospital in Omaha, NE, as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for RNs looking to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment. As part of the team, you will provide high-quality care in a 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit, managing a diverse patient population including orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses.

The unit is split across floors, with specific attention to patients with underlying behavioral health conditions. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the hospital. Training for safety and de-escalation will be provided, and comfort with a behavioral health patient population is essential. Ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with the possibility of 1:7 at night depending on staffing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips as required.
• Utilize EPIC charting for patient documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including CNAs and care techs.

Requirements:

• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital.
• Experience with drips and EPIC charting is mandatory.
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center.
• Must float within scope to meet facility needs, potentially including the Bellevue campus.
• 100% nicotine-free facility.

Travelers are required to work 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period, including Friday and Saturday nights. Up to two weeks of RTO (Request Time Off) are permitted, but must be submitted with the application. Holiday requirements include working 2 out of 3 major holidays during the winter season.

Locals are not accepted for this position; candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted, but if the license is not in hand at the time of submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.

Scrubs are mandatory, with RNs required to wear Steele gray scrubs featuring the hospital's logo. Information on obtaining these scrubs will be provided upon confirmation. Parking permits are available for professionals, with costs approximately $55/month, or daily rate parking at $3 for 20 hours.
