Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MS/Tele experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a Med/Surg/Tele unit caring for Ortho/Spine/Med/Surg patients
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift schedule (4x12, 18:30-07:00) with 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 scheduling options available
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating required
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Respiratory skills needed including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team participation required
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
• Drug test completion required 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Ortho/Spine/Med/Surg patient populations including total joint replacement, ortho trauma, renal failure, and pre/post neurosurgery cases
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs
• Modules are non-billable, average 4-5 hours, and are completed during orientation
• Must live 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
