Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MS/Tele experience and a 1:7 patient ratio.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00)
• Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float required
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, starting/maintaining IVs, chest tube management, nasal cannula use, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin/insulin/PCA administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Relias EKG testing required for all specialties, to be completed within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug testing 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within the Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring, respiratory care, and wound management
• Contract nursing team members are expected to support nursing student clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs, followed by 16 hours of nonbillable orientation modules (4-5 hours average)
• Employer may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census decrease
• Additional shifts beyond the standard commitment may be flexed based on census needs
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
