Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for 4x12 night shifts, requiring cardiac experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • Work in Med/Surg Tele units providing medical, surgical, and observation care
  • May float between two different units within a single 12-hour shift based on facility need
  • 4x12 night shift schedule (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Overflow placement based out of McCann
  • Uses Cerner documentation system

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU/Tele nursing experience required
  • Cardiac experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
  • Experience managing cardiac drips (titration not required)
  • Epic or Cerner experience preferred
  • Float pool experience preferred
  • Experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, and GTT drips preferred

Additional Information

  • Care team includes Nurses, PCAs, and OAs with placement determined during bed meetings based on unit needs
  • Facility uses the Avasure video monitoring system, which observes up to 12 patients at a time and requires staff relief for breaks and meals
  • First-time travelers with 2-3 years of experience will be considered
  • Returning staff must wait 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
