Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with cardiac experience for a 13-week assignment, open to first-time travelers with 2-3 years of experience.

Details

  • Work in Med/Surg Tele units providing medical, surgical, and observation care
  • May float between two different units within the same 12-hour shift based on need
  • Overflow coverage based out of McCann unit
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Uses Cerner documentation system
  • May be assigned to the Avasure video monitoring system overseeing up to 12 patients, with relief provided for breaks and meals

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU/Tele nursing experience required
  • Experience with either Epic or Cerner required
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing cardiac drips (titration not required)
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
  • Float pool experience preferred
  • Experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, and GTT drips preferred

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers with 2-3 years of experience are welcome to apply
  • Returning staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Standard contract length is 14 weeks
