Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 1 year of experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

  • 46-bed surgical unit caring for trauma surgery, post-bariatric, post-abdominal, post-amputation, and urological patients, with overflow medical and cardiac cases
  • Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, up to 1:7 during call-ins
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
  • Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care to surgical patients including trauma, bariatric, abdominal, amputation, and urological cases with occasional medical/cardiac overflow
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
  • Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
  • Required to complete onboarding modules within the first week of the assignment
  • Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards; unprofessional behavior, attendance issues, or shift call-offs may result in contract termination
