Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-26 week assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Day/Night rotation on a 3x12 hour schedule, 36 hours/week
• Rotating schedule changes every 4 weeks between day and night shifts
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within OSU facilities

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team protocols
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and substance withdrawal care
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric patient populations
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor-level leader; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Must complete Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer due to strict state requirements
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• PCU experience is not required for this role
