Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN with cardiac telemetry experience for a night shift position requiring WV or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work on a full telemetry floor with centralized monitoring and a dedicated monitor tech
  • Unit cares for pulmonary/cardiac monitored beds (16), medicine, cardiac, and med/surg adult and geriatric patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12, 7p-7a, weekdays
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within scope as needed
  • 36 hours guaranteed per week

Requirements

  • Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required

Additional Information

  • Located in a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
  • Provide care for cardiac telemetry and med/surg patients including dysrhythmia monitoring and emergency response
  • Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue/White for RNs
  • Free parking provided for travelers
  • Orientation held every other Thursday
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; COVID vaccine not required
  • Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those within 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
  • First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
  • Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last day worked before returning as a traveler
  • Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
