Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2+ years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Care for cardiac telemetry, CVA, and general MS/Tele patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Call requirement of 2 shifts per month, which may fall on days or nights depending on unit needs
• No weekend or floating requirements specified
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Uses Amrita documentation system
• Any scrub color permitted

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience required
• Experience in Cardiac Telemetry and Telemetry settings required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and port access/management
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience with heparin protocols and titrating cardiac drips
• Skilled in respiratory care including HFNC, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
• Experience with total joint replacement orthopedic care preferred
• Charting system experience required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Manage patients with respiratory needs including tracheostomy care and oxygen administration
• Administer medications per protocols including insulin and heparin drips
• Perform wound care and maintain isolation precautions as needed
• RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
