Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and 1 year of MS/Tele experience.

Details

  • Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
  • Experience with wound care and wound vac management

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including monitoring and managing cardiac rhythms and responding to emergencies
  • Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed, excluding holidays
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Must reside 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
