Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and ortho proficiency in totals and fractures.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on the Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Float within service line to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Ortho experience required, including proficiency in ortho totals and fractures
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS and OCN certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to perform heavy lifting
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Cardiac monitoring skills including telemetry (on-unit and remote) and dysrhythmia management
• Neurological care skills including CVA and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
• Experience with total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheters preferred
• Renal care skills including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred

Additional Information

• Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 222 staffed beds
• Navy scrub color required
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted during the 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any facility within the health system
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months with a required 3-month break in service afterward
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No parking costs for staff
