Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift role at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of tele experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a Magnet-designated, Level 4 Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Remote telemetry unit utilizing diltiazem and insulin drips, NIHSS assessments, and PIV
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise posted
• Floating required within the hospital but not to sister facilities
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required
• At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including drip management and NIHSS assessments
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Scrubs may be any color
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during orientation week
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a travmiler
