Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand; pending certifications are not accepted
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, preferably from an assignment worked within the past 12 months
• Strong telemetry monitoring, ECG rhythm recognition, medication administration, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to successfully complete required orientation assessments, facility onboarding, background screening, and pre-start learning modules
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work scheduled overnight shifts

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms, and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical standards
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and effective handoff communication
