Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a 16-bed staffed unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), various days of the week
• Weekend requirement of 6-8 shifts per 6-week schedule (Sat/Sun days, Fri/Sat/Sun nights)
• Floating required within scope based on unit census, including to sister facilities as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and TURP care
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols

Additional Information

• Care for patients in a Med/Surg Tele setting including neurological, psychiatric, and substance withdrawal populations
• Facility-specific modules must be completed within the first week of assignment, averaging about 4 hours
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply as long as experience requirements are met
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where RTO is not permitted
• No blocked scheduling requests allowed
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility
• Previous UCHealth employees or those who applied to UCHealth internal travel/staff positions within the last two years may not be eligible for consideration
• Return travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
