Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a mixed-acuity specialty care unit, including oncology patients receiving high-dose chemotherapy and complex medication and blood product administration (travelers do not administer chemotherapy)
  • Manage a patient assignment of up to four patients on days and up to five patients on nights across varying acuity levels
  • Administer IV drips as required across all floors
  • Float to other units within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs, including potential float to an additional campus
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
  • Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
  • Must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
