Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit providing care for patients with pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week with option to pick up additional hours as available
• Every other weekend required
• Float as needed to similar medical-surgical departments, with travelers floated first
• Night shift patient ratios of 1:5-6, no LPNs on nights
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience required
• MS/Tele experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Supervisor-level references required
• Proof of flu vaccination required, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a variety of acute diagnoses
• Skills in IV therapy, respiratory support, GI/GU care, neuro/psych conditions, and medication administration are valued
• Charge nurse is typically free from patient assignments when fully staffed, but may take patients when short-staffed
• No holiday RTO requests accepted, though scheduling may be discussed with the manager
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Annual self-reported training modules required, completed during orientation
