Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5-7
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current relevant nursing experience required
• 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Experience with cardiac drips, PCA, epidural analgesia, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Driver's license with address matching permanent address required
• Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions are reviewed case-by-case

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients with cardiac, renal, neurological, respiratory, and orthopedic conditions, including CVA, post-TPA care, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
• Travel pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year before being eligible to return
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant Level IV experience
