Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 3x12 hours, 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Specific unit assignment confirmed at time of offer
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact); no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team activation
• Proficient in IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions
• Local LPN candidates are accepted
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without charge
• Work within a Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services through several institutes including cardiac, cancer, and neuroscience programs
