Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and current EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Mixed acuity Med/Surg Tele unit caring for PCU and Med/Surg patients
• Rotating 12-hour Day/Night contract with shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) with potential for day or mixed rotation based on department needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, current within the last 12 months and in the specialty applied for
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN certifications preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management preferred
• Oncology experience, including chemotherapy administration, preferred but not required
• BiPAP/CPAP management experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice encouraged; previous travel experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete mandatory Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, either locally or via mailed packet if outside the state
