Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of acute medical-surgical telemetry experience and night shift availability.

Details

  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Cares for acute medical-surgical patients with conditions such as CHF, infection, pneumonia, stroke, TIA, seizures, and UTI
  • Provides post-procedure care for pacemaker placements and cardiac catheterization
  • Manages thoracentesis, chest tubes, cardiac drips, heparin drips, and peritoneal dialysis patients
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of med/surg telemetry nursing experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation for telemetry patients
  • Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and PPE beneficial
  • Skills in pacemaker management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath care are valued
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
