Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Weekend rotation required, likely every other weekend
  • Patient ratio of 1:5/6
  • Floating required to all Med/Surg floors, potentially rehab, and OB as helping hands
  • May care for patients with peritoneal dialysis, respiratory conditions, cardiac disease, stroke, joint replacements, and post-open heart surgery transfers
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact); PA license required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care, and IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with total joint replacement, ortho trauma, and pre/post cardiac surgery preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care across multiple specialty units including cardiac, renal, neuro, and orthopedic populations
  • Work closely with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators for patient education on select units
  • Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
  • One day of orientation provided before assignment begins
  • Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, offered at a reduced rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
