Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a MS/Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a valid OR RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 418 staffed beds
- MS/Tele unit serving a medical-surgical telemetry patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between sister facilities within the state is expected and required
- Charting performed in Epic (required)
- No on-call required
- No parking fee
- Personal vehicle required for this assignment
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required; compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Required skills include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, peripheral IV placement, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), vasoactive drip management (no titration), dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
Additional Information
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
- Floating may occur across multiple facilities in the state, including locations in Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
- Travelers floating to Seaside from a non-Seaside contracted facility receive an hourly pay incentive plus IRS mileage reimbursement; hotel accommodations are provided for consecutive floating shifts to Seaside
- Preferred scrub color is any color
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Facility does not accept candidates with background check hits
- Local candidates (within 50 miles) are accepted at a lower bill rate
