Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a MS/Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel experience.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 418 staffed beds
- MS/Tele unit serving a medical-surgical telemetry patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between sister facilities within the state is expected and required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Potential float locations include Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent facilities
- On-call is not required
- Block schedules are not required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Scrubs in any color are permitted
Requirements
- Active OR RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates; local candidates may be considered under a different pay structure
- Required skills include IV therapy and phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, peripheral line care, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), vasoactive drip management (no titration), telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, HFNC and oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, and early mobilization and CHG bathing
- Preferred skills include PCA management and surgical drain care
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be approved, and excessive inflexibility may result in contract termination
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates must not have any Nursys or background check hits to be considered
- No previous background check (Nursys) hits will be accepted by the facility
- Orientation is provided with no non-billable orientation hours required
