Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 46-bed surgical unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and MI licensure.

Details

• Work on a 46-bed surgical unit (4N) treating trauma surgery, post bariatric, post abdominal, post amputation, and urological surgery patients
• Also accepts overflow medical and cardiac patients
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, with potential increases to 1:7 during call-ins
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Holiday rotation required every other holiday
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:6-7 preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a diverse surgical and medical patient population, including trauma, bariatric, abdominal, amputation, urological, and cardiac overflow cases
• New travelers are onboarded weekly to help manage unit workload during call-ins
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
• Required to complete onboarding modules within the first week of the assignment
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards regarding attendance and behavior
