Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit managing a variety of diagnoses including pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Maintain a night shift patient ratio of 1:5–6 RN, with charge nurse coverage as staffing levels dictate
• Float as needed to like Medical Surgical departments
• Fulfill every-other-weekend requirement
• Adhere to holiday scheduling as determined by unit management; holiday time-off requests are not guaranteed and are subject to unit needs
• Complete non-billable orientation modules as required, both initially and annually

Required Qualifications

• Valid Michigan RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; at least 1 year must be in Medical Surgical
• Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Supervisor-level references required
• Proof of flu vaccination required upon submission; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
• Locals are welcome and accepted; no radius restrictions (note: a local rate may apply for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility — see applicable rate details)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for complex medical patients including those with sepsis, heart failure, and DKA
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
