Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring NC or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit with a primarily Med/Surg patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for observation, respiratory, general medical-surgical, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetic, and surgical patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, plus holidays as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning preferred
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral/PICC line management skills preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge preferred
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse Med/Surg Tele population including surgical, diabetic, respiratory, and hospice patients
• EKG exam is pass/fail with two attempts allowed; study materials are not provided by the facility
• No local candidates permitted within 50 miles of the facility; no local rate applies
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Background checks must show no open cases
• Education must be third-party verified; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list are not accepted
