Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit with primarily Med/Surg patient population, though tele-capable due to EKG requirement for all RNs
• Patient population includes observation, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical/surgical observation cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, nasal cannula, oral suctioning) preferred
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills including blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management preferred
• Gastrointestinal care skills including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care experience preferred
• Surgical drain management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of medical-surgical diagnoses and conditions
• Interpret and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias as part of telemetry monitoring responsibilities
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed for patient emergencies
• Travelers may be floated to any Cone Health facility as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• Third-party education verification required, with degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list not accepted
