Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of MS experience.

Details

  • Med/Surg Tele unit with primarily Medical/Surgical patient population
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6
  • Cares for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, and diabetic patients including complications
  • Cares for surgical and surgical observation patients
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Floating required to any Cone Health campus as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including MS experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
  • Valid driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

  • Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Respiratory care skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
  • Additional clinical skills include bowel obstruction, ostomy care, feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, and renal failure management
  • Cardiac monitoring skills include dysrhythmia interpretation/management and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
  • Wound care and wound vac experience utilized
  • Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
  • RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
