Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least one prior travel contract.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required between units and sister facilities
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and responding to rapid response/code situations

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and wound care as needed
• Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower rate
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required prior to start
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position due to the seasoned traveler requirement
