Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Trauma Level II experience and prior travel contract experience.

Details

• Observation unit caring for chest pain rule-out patients
• Supports the ED with overflow holding patients when the hospital is at capacity
• Frequently cares for cardiac and telemetry patients
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• No floating required unless otherwise agreed upon at interview or offer

Requirements

• Active RN license (MT or Compact)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including 1+ year in specialty
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• At least one prior travel contract required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry and observation patients, including chest pain rule-out cases
• Skills in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy utilized
• Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols valued
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Prior permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before returning
• Case-by-case review for candidates with license or background history
