Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a day shift position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes various disease processes such as respiratory diseases, infections, dementia, and neurological issues
• Charge RN present every shift to assist with patient flow and oversight
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic documentation system
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to facility needs
• Floating required to other MS/Tele units and facilities based on census needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Must demonstrate MS/Tele competencies and pass an EKG exam
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Skills required include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care, and respiratory and renal patient care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for adults and geriatric patients with complex medical-surgical and telemetry needs
• Participate in a collaborative unit environment with a strong teamwork culture
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required training modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Attend orientation held weekly on Mondays along with annual compliance training
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for travel assignments, with reduced eligibility between 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in select specialties may qualify under reduced radius exceptions
