Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring EPIC EMR experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

  • Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
  • Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need
  • Floating to similar units required as needed
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Uses Omnicell medication system
  • Performs post heart cath monitoring and bedside procedures including dialysis cath, thoracentesis, and I&D

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TN or compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with blood product administration, CBI, and hemodialysis management preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management preferred
  • Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and procedural support
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
  • Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility in the health system to be eligible for full travel pay, with reduced rates for 90-99.9 miles
  • Night shift travelers for this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus, with reduced rates for 50-99.9 miles and ineligibility under 50 miles
