Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an inpatient Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a staffing ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Care for patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Maintain a strong focus on patient experience in alignment with unit standards
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census, within the scope of demonstrated and documented competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the contracted facility to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 50–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate for night shift in this specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for stroke and TIA patients in an inpatient setting
• Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
• Experience with higher-acuity medical-surgical patient populations
