Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with TN or compact license for a locked incarcerated unit requiring comfort working with the prison population.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit on a locked incarcerated hospital unit
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• Float required to other MS/Tele units including forensics, inpatient units and potentially ICU

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Two references required for consideration
• PDF copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must be comfortable working with the incarcerated patient population on a locked unit
• Holiday rotation required, with nurses expected to work 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
• Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged when possible to accommodate personal preferences
• Contracts starting in September should extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
