Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45a-7:15p
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
• Scrub color required is royal blue
• No cost parking available
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced bill rate, with non-local candidates prioritized
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local candidate consideration
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and is subject to facility approval
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peaking in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
