Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Experience with chest tube management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care within a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
• Royal blue scrub color required
• No cost parking available
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for the position
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block scheduling approval may be requested but is not guaranteed
• All RTO must be submitted and approved based on facility needs
• During hurricane season (June through November), travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
