Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work on the 5 North unit, a 36-private-room cardiac telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Care for a patient population ranging from young adults to geriatric patients
  • Priority admission given to patients requiring medical cardiac care and recovery from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant
  • Unit also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience not required

  • Preferred skills: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care/management, sheath removal, and pre/post hemodialysis management

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-procedural cardiac care
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties will not be considered
  • Locals within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted
  • Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Onsite orientation modules required, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
