Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work on the 5 North unit, a 36-private-room cardiac telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for a patient population ranging from young adults to geriatric patients
• Priority admission given to patients requiring medical cardiac care and recovery from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant
• Unit also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience not required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, management of vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, use of rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips, post cardiac angiogram care, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post cardiac surgery care, and renal failure management
• Preferred skills: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care/management, sheath removal, and pre/post hemodialysis management

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-procedural cardiac care
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties will not be considered
• Locals within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Onsite orientation modules required, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
