Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float position requiring charge experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float role covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient population may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg cases
• Nurse to patient ratio varies from 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Charge responsibilities may apply on smaller units typically staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Floating required between sister facilities within the system
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience working in the US required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula respiratory support

Additional Information

• Core charge duties include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination on smaller units
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
