Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring 2 years of experience, Level II trauma experience, and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Care Float Pool position at a Magnet-designated, Level 4 trauma teaching hospital
• Unit manages medical, surgical, medical-telemetry, surgical-telemetry, infusion, orthopedic, and neurosurgery patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00-19:30) or night shifts (19:00-7:30) available
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within hospital required, within scope of practice
• No floating to sister hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• EKG telemetry compliance test required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team participation
• Experience with cardiac drip management, insulin protocols, and wound care/wound vac

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a float pool covering med/surg, telemetry, ortho, and neurosurgery patient populations
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any scrub color accepted otherwise
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers may be considered pending manager screening
• Prior staff must have an 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
